This grant was awarded to the Monroe County School District by the Mississippi Department of Education.
The district used these funds to:
Phase One implementation of the "High School Redesign" program into the Monroe County School District
New computer labs for the 7th & 9th grade at Hamilton, Hatley and Smithville Schools
New courses and labs were installed - ICT I (Information Computer Technology) for 7th graders and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) for 9th graders
The Monroe County Vocational Center received two new program/lab upgrades for grade 10-12 students. The Health Technology and Business Management labs were installed.
